Hi there
Reading your excellent reviews
I wonder whether you could evaluate the video processor of each TV you evaluate
In addition to the panel quality.
Especially the stretching of 4:3 films to wide 14:9.
It is my impression that the resulting picture is distorted and faces (actually all objects)
appear wider (fatter) and the ratio is annoying.

Keep on the good work

Hi Gadm. Welcome to the forums.

Thank you for your suggestions and your kind words.

I'll try to include some more detailed info on the video processors in future reviews, including some thoughts regarding the aspect ratio.

See you around :)

Thanks

I'll be waiting
Let me repeat, I'ts very interesting reviews ypo publish.

Are there tools to automatically correct a panel's factory settings in order to
obtain better quality?
I'd like to run such a tool to enhance my Philips TV set.

You can use our monitorTest program here to check for basic characteristics such as shadow detail, colours, response time etc. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/focus.php?s ... 1229341512

Besides that I recommend the DVE HD Basic disc. It has a lot of nice test patterns and some calibration guides. It's not automatic though. For our tests we our a hardware calibrator to calibrate panels.

XD dual engine from LG plasmas is the best for SD and Interlaced sources

Sony 's Bravia Engine Pro2 is the best for HD (my opinion)
