TV size comparison

15 Dec 2008 | Torben Rasmussen |

It can be hard to judge how big a TV or PC monitor you should get or how big the difference between two sizes actually is when you are browsing the web for good prices. Therefore we bring you an interactive applet to help you make the right choice. If you are instead looking to find what size TV fits your seating distance, you should instead take a look at our applet for TV size vs. seating distance.

How to use the applet

It is pretty straight forward to use this applet. You enter the size of the two screens you wish to compare, set the resolution (this is only used for the info-box on the bottom) and the aspect ratios. Press the button in the middle of the screen to make the screens adjust their size. As a small bonus you can also set the aspect ratio of the input, which allows you to see what your favorite material will look like on your screen. Move each screen by dragging the picture with your mouse.

To the right you will find a small lever that allows you to scale the screens up and down in case you have chosen a display size that does not fit inside the boundaries of the applet or if you wish to examine PC-monitor sized displays which are typically a bit smaller than ordinary TV sizes.

Enjoy!
