Reuters has had a talk with Samsung’s president of the TV division, Yoon Boo-keun, and he confirms the launch of Samsung’s first OLED-TV at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. According to our sources, Samsung plans to unveil a 55-inch OLED-TV.

In September FlatpanelsHD reported that Samsung and LG have been testing 55” OLED-TV prototypes for a 2012 launch. In an unusual move Samsung’s president of the TV division, Yoon Boo-keun, has now confirmed Samsung’s plans to unveil their first OLED-TV at CES 2012 in Las Vegas this January.

The OLED technology delivers amazing picture quality with perfect viewing angles, perfect black levels and extremely fast response time. OLED-TVs can also become extremely slim and are very power efficient.
Yoon Boo-keun has confirmed Samsung’s plans in a Reuters report. No further details have been disclosed but our sources indicate that Samsung plans to launch a 55-inch OLED-TV. Yoon Boo-keun also confirmed that Samsung is in “last-stage” talks with Google regarding a Samsung Google TV.
