Apple has quietly updated their Apple TV box with a new Genius recommendations system. The system automatically recommends movies and TV shows based on what the user has seen in the past.

A new Genius section is available from the home screen with recommendations for TV shows and movies, and will help users to explore new video content based on what they have seen in the past.
The new feature is seen as an important step in making video content on the Apple TV platform more available and easier to find as the catalogue widens. Apple is also believed to introduce an Apple-branded HDTV in 2012.s
