The Amazon Instant Video app opens today on Samsung’s 2012 Smart TVs, and joins existing services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Vudu and Blockbuster.

If you own one of Samsung’s 2012 Smart TVs (the ES models) you can now login in to your Amazon Instant Video account via the new app. If you own a 2010 or 2011 Smart TV you are out of luck.

Samsung promises a redesigned interface for the big screen and access to queue, recommendations and subtitles. The Smart TV app also synchronizes with your Kindle Fire HD if you happen to own one.
