Panasonic showcased its first OLED-TV prototype at CES 2013. Sources from Japan now claim to know that Panasonic will launch its first OLED-TV in 2015 when the inkjet printing production method is ready for mass production.

Panasonic and Sony both unveiled a 56-inch OLED-TV prototypes with 4K resolution at CES. The two makers are collaborating on OLED technology and are also co-developing the so-called inkjet printing production method where OLED pixels are “printed” into substrates.

Earlier, it was reported that Panasonic hoped to launch in 2014 but it seems that it will take longer than expected to prepare everything. Japanese sources say that the OLED-TV will not be ready for the consumer market until 2015. Whether it is a 4K OLED-TV or just a “normal” Full HD OLED-TV is unknown. The sources claim that the delay is due to the printing method.
LG will launch its first OLED-TV in March and Samsung is also expected to launch its first OLED-TV in 2013.
The OLED display technology is regarded the next revolution in display technology because of its superior picture characteristics and its range of unique features that will allow manufacturers to incorporate the panels into new types of devices and products.
