Redbox Instant hopes to take on Netflix and Amazon Instant. They are slowly expanding the streaming service to more devices. The latest addition is LG’s Smart TVs.

Redbox Instant is still in beta but after launching on Apple iOS and Google Android devices as well as Xbox, they have now slowly begun expanding to Smart TVs.

Owners of LG’s Smart TVs are the first to enjoy the streaming service. 2012 and 2013 Smart TVs from LG are supported but Redbox has already promised to expand the service to more brands and more devices. Still, the noticeably lack of popular media boxes such as Roku, Apple TV and PlayStation 3 makes us wonder if people really want to jump ship from Netflix to join Redbox.
