We reviewed Eizo’s first edition of their 22" S-PVA monitor, S2231W (review online on FlatpanelsHD soon), on our Danish site some time ago and it received much praise. Now Eizo presents the successor called S2242W coming in early February in Japan and later on the European market.
The screen has a 22-inch panel; an updated version of the Samsung S-PVA panel. The panel uses 8-bit colours and has good picture characteristics, making the Eizo S2242W ideal for graphics and editing.

Eizo S2242W is connected through the analogues D-SUB (VGA) input or the digital DVI (with HDCP). The design is more or less identical to the old Eizo design, and provides good ergonomic options. The stand allows for tilting, height adjustment and pivot (90 degree rotation).
No official date is announced for the European market but Eizo S2242W will allegedly be available in Japan from the 5th of February at a price equaling 780 U.S. dollars. The screen is expected in a black version (S2242W-H) and a grey version (S2232W-E).
