Sharp 2010 line-up in outline

In 2010 Sharp will launch new TV models ranging from very cheap series to expensive series. The main feature is the new very slim design because an Edge LED backlight, as well as Sharp’s new Quad Pixel technology that adds a yellow sub-pixel to the panel.

The design has received a major facelift, and several of the 2010 models from Sharp have been built in exclusive materials with a glass front that makes the bezel and panel fade together. All of the new 2010 models from Sharp are slimmer than 4 cm, even when Sharp increases panel size to impressive 68 inches.

The 2010 line-up will incorporate Sharp’s new panel technology Quad Pixel. Instead of traditional LCD panels that use RGB (red, green, blue) Sharp has added Y (yellow) in order to market the so-called YRGB panel. Sharp says that the addition of the yellow colour provides more distinct and accurate colours.

Sharp will also introduces 200 Hz, faster response time and a USB input that eats music, images and video (including HD video and DivX).

In 2010 Sharp will be launching the AQUOS NET giving users access to the Internet. Sharp has not revealed which services will be available except from Netflix (US only). We should probably expect YouTube as well. DLNA has also been incorporated in the 2010 Sharp models.
