Sony’s head-mounted 3D helmet
Sony has revealed a futuristic and quite interesting 3D prototype product at CES 2011 in Las Vegas, with a design looking like something that would be in the X-Men movies.

The head-mounted 3D helmet has two 720p OLED screens that create a 3D image by alternating pictures for the right and left eye. It also has simulated 5.1 surround to give you a complete and immersive experience.

The design looks very futuristic with the blue line of LEDs at the front and a glowing Sony logo on the side. The head-mount actually calibrates to fit your exact eye position in order to ensure the best possible 3D experience. However, you need to hold it with your hands because it has no attachment system at the back.
No pricing or availability notes have been announced. Right now it’s just a prototype.
