Apple’s new iPad will be available in the US tomorrow but today all newspapers and websites are being flooded with reviews. The new Retina display receives much praise and is called "otherworldly” and “jaw-droppinlgy good”.
Retina display praise
Apple rely on partners such as Samsung, LG, and Sharp for displays inside their products - but Apple also constantly pushes the limits. With the iPhone 4 they started a small display revolution with extreme pixel density. The new iPad is the latest to receive a display with extreme pixel density, with its 2048x1536 pixel resolution.
Reviewers sing the praises of the Retina display in the new iPad
With display technology and picture quality as the premise of our activities here at FlatpanelsHD we are always delighted to see further improvements in display technology, as it supports our stance that displays are one of the most important aspects of today’s products.
The reviewers generally agree that the new display is unique and much more than a gimmick. The New York Times says that the screen is "jaw-droppingly good" and "just incredibly sharp and clear". Washington Post writes; "This display is outrageous. It's stunning. It's incredible”, and describes it as being "otherworldly". USA Today says that it is "a screen to die for" and the reviewer from The Loop says that he is “in awe” of how good the Retina display is. All Things D compares the screen to the one in iPad 2 and says that it feels like “putting your glasses on."
The list of people praising the new Retina display goes on, and we hope that the industry continues to push for display and picture quality improvements in the future.
