Sharp has announced a new feature for its TVs with SmartCentral. A new SmartCentral app will expand the TV experience to a smartphone or tablet running iOS or Android.

Sharp has released a range of new TVs and updated the SmartCentral functionality with a new app for smartphones and tablets running iOS and Android.

The SmartCentral app offers users a second-screen TV experience, remote control capabilities, the ability to ”flick” photos and video from a smartphones/tablet onto the TV screen.

The app also offers web browsning support, and support for Netflix’s second-screen controls, which has already been demonstrated on the PlayStation 3. This basically means that you can control the Netflix experience on the big screen from your mobile device.
