Chinese TCL has unveiled its first 4K TV. It is a 50-inch TV with a 4K LCD panel that will launch in USA this September for $999 US dollars.

TCL is not the first Chinese TV maker to release cheap Ultra HD TVs but they are joining Seiki in pushing down prices on the next generation of TV technology.

TCL’s 50-inch 7E504D is based on a LCD panel with edge LED backlighting. It boasts 3840x2160 pixel resolution and can accept 4K inputs from 4K players and PCs capable of outputting all the pixels. It can also upscale non-4K content from TV channels, DVDs and Blu-rays. It offers four HDMI ports and a USB connector. The TV does not support 3D.
TCL’s 50-inch 4K TV will launch this September for $999 USD. The model name is 7E504D.
