Vizio unveiled its new E and M series TVs back in January at CES 2014. Most of the TVs started shipping months ago, and the huge 70-inch model is now also shipping for $1900 USD.
Large TVs getting affordable
Samsung will release a 85-inch UHD for $9999 soon, which is a lot cheaper compared to previous large-size TVs, but Vizio’s new 70-inch TV is in a completely different price class.
The 70-inch is part of the 2014 M series and is now available for $1900 USD. The M series use full-array LED backlights for better picture homogeneity. It also has 36 local dimming zones for dynamic contrast dimming. TV apps such as Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime are built in.
Vizio is also selling a 80-inch M series TV for $3199, but this model was not refreshed for the 2014 line-up. The 70-inch M702I-B3 is available now from vizio.com and should be available soon on Amazon, too.
