A total of eight new TVs will be available in the 2015 M series, ranging from 43 to 80 inch sizes. You can recognize the new TVs by looking at the model number, which is supposed to end on “Cx” (Bx = 2014).
Besides offering Ultra HD resolution, the new TVs come with a full-array LED backlight and 32 local dimming zones for improved black levels. That is not a lot but more than most competitors offer in this price segment.
Vizio’s TVs also offer an updated Smart TV platform, which now supports HEVC decoding. This enables the TVs to stream in beautiful 4K resolution from Netflix, Amazon Instant, and UltraFlix. Vizio confirms that the integrated WiFi chip is based on the latest 802.11ac that should ensure great streaming stability (if you also own an 802.11ac router). A HDMI 2.0 port is integrated for connecting external 4K players such as the new Ultra HD Blu-ray players.
Vizio’s 2015 M series TVs are now shipping out the customers. The 75 and 80-inch models will be available in fall and June, respectively.
