Amazon removed Apple TV and Chromecast from shelves on October 29th “in order to avoid customer confusion” over missing Amazon Video support. The company has now seemingly confirmed that an Apple TV app is coming “within a few weeks”.Amazon Video coming to Apple TV
The new Apple TV with tvOS launched a few weeks ago with apps for Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Showtime, YouTube, and many more, but Amazon Video was notably missing.
That could change soon, which could also mean that the Apple TV will return to Amazon’s online store. Amazon has sent a reply to engineer Dan Bostonweeks, saying that; "Hopefully, within a few weeks span, you will be able to see the Amazon Instant Video app feature on your Apple TV,"I sent feedback to Amazon via the Amazon Instant Video iOS app about supporting tvOS. Apple has already said that “all are welcome” in the App Store on tvOS. Several companies that were unavailable on the old box have already jumped at the opportunity to release apps, including Plex.
Amazon Video is the second-largest streaming service after Netflix and is available on Android, iOS, Fire TV, Fire tablets, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, Wii, and select Smart TVs.
