Apple will soon release the next big update for the Apple TV. tvOS 9.2 will add folders, Bluetooth keyboard support, a Podcast app, an updated App switcher, and other new features.

tvOS 9.2 for Apple TV

In December 2015, Apple released tvOS 9.1, which brought back the Remote app and fixed some bugs. The next big update for Apple TV is tvOS 9.2, which has just been released in beta for developers.

tvOS 9.2 will first and foremost allow users to create folders on the home screen. The folder functionality will work the same way as on iPhone/iPad.

Apple will also add a Podcast app that allows you listen to podcasts. The old Apple TV already had access to podcasts.

With tvOS 9.2, Apple will restore the ability to connect a Bluetooth keyboard. The App Switcher will also get a refreshed look that resembles the App Switcher on iOS. Instead of having apps showing up side-by-side, apps will now overlap and use blur effects.

Siri will learn US Spanish and French Canadian, and if you have the system language set to English you will be able to set Siri independently to either UK English, Australian English or US English. tvOS 9.2 also adds support for MapKit.

Apple has not said when it will release tvOS 9.2 to the public but usually it takes some weeks for smaller updates and longer for bigger updates.
