At IFA 2016, Loewe exhibited its first ‘bild 7’ OLED TV, which is available in Europe now. The company also exhibited ‘bild 9’, an OLED TV design concept that will mark the beginning of a new design language at Loewe. Bild 9 will launch in 2017.

German Loewe has been through some tough times lately and was on the verge of bankruptcy. The TV company with the rich history is now back on solid ground and ready to build a future based on OLED technology and a new design direction.
In order to shape the future of Loewe, the company hired German designer Bodo Sperlein in January 2016. Sperlein was appointed Creative Director and with bild 9 he has created a unique OLED TV that will help establish “an innovative, new shape language for the company”.
- “Bild 9 and klang 9 were designed with the objective of drawing in friends and family - and at the same time merging in an almost ideal way with the interior,” said Bodo Sperlein.
- “With the Loewe bild 9 we want to demonstrate how we imagine televisions that integrate into the home,” said Mark Hüsges, CEO of Loewe.
Bild 9 is Loewe’s second OLED TV after bild 7 was launched in August. Bild 9 features the same technology as bild 7, which includes OLED display technology, Ultra HD resolution and HDR (both HDR10 and Dolby Vision).
Bild 9 will offer the new design when launched in the spring of 2017. It will be accompanied by new “klang 9” audio system. Pricing details were not announced.
