Harman Kardon launches affordable SB20 soundbar

21 Nov 2016 | Rasmus Larsen |

Harman Kardon has added a new, more affordable SB20 soundbar to its line-up. It is a compact soundbar with a wireless subwoofer and a special feature to normalize TV sound.

A compact soundbar

The company is currently selling the SB35 and SB26 soundbar models and has now added the more affordable SB20 model to the portfolio.

Harman Kardon SB20 is a compact soundbar with fairly basic features. Still, it should be capable of improving your TV listening experience compared to the weak speakers in most modern TVs. Besides improving TV sound, the soundbar comes with Bluetooth for music. There is HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel), which makes SB20 compatible with most TVs and AV setups.

The company adds that SB20 can imitate a form of virtual surround.

Can normalize volume level

Inside it has 3x 55mm drivers and 2x 32mm tweeters. The subwoofer connects to the soundbar wirelessly. The soundbar has digital optical and analog ports.

- “Connecting the SB 20 soundbar to your television greatly improves the TV and movie-watching experience while upping the game on your music-listening and gaming experience,” said Robb Mason, Senior Director, HARMAN. “With the Harman Kardon SB 20 we have created the solution to bring high quality audio to all your home entertainment activities.”

The company says that an integrated ”Harman Volume feature keeps every channel and commercial at the same volume level when skipping through channels or being interrupted by TV commercials, making sudden changes in volume a thing of the past”.
