Loewe 'bild 5' OLED has Dolby Vision & retro design

Loewe has added yet another range of OLED TVs to its line-up. The design of the new ‘bild 5’ OLED is inspired by the sixties and it features Dolby Vision. Prices start at 3490 Euro.

Loewe already offers a ‘bild 5’ range of LCD TVs and the company is now adding ‘bild 5 OLED’ models to the line-up. The word “bild” is German for “picture” and to complement the new OLED TVs Loewe has created the ‘klang 5’ soundbar: German for “sound”.

The design is retro and inspired by the sixties. Loewe calls it a modular design that offers the user freedom to hang the TV on a wall, place it on table stand, or place it on a floor stand. It is up to the buyer to decide whether he/she wants the 80W ‘klang 5’ soundbar attached. The TV is available in “Silver Oak” and “Piano black”. Loewe says that more than 40 design combinations are possible.

bild 5 is based on LG.Display’s 2017 OLED panel and like the more expensive bild 7 and bild 9 OLED ranges, it comes packed with 4K resolution and support for three HDR formats (Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG). Loewe is promising a superb viewing experience with absolute blacks and accurate, vivid colors.

There is a 5.1 surround decoder built-in and the TVs can also transmit sound wirelessly to Loewe speakers through the company’s ‘klang link’ system. In a surround setup the soundbar can be used as a center speaker.

Built-in HDD & smart features

Additionally, the TVs come with all of Loewe’s usual features, including apps, 1TB DR+ recording capabilities, fast channel switching, support for the new Loewe App, and other features.

With bild 5, Loewe is expanding its portfolio to one of the most comprehensive OLED line-ups available. Only LG – the sole manufacturers of the OLED TV panels – has a broader line-up. Loewe’s TVs will be joined new OLED TVs from Bang & Olufsen, Grundig, Panasonic, Philips, Sony, and others in 2017.

Loewe bild 5 OLED TVs will be available in Europe in 55 and 65-inch sizes in late May / early June.

Pricing in Euro:
  • Loewe bild 5.55 OLED – 3490 Euro
  • Loewe bild 5.55 OLED + klang 5 – 3990 Euro
  • Loewe bild 5.65 OLED – 4990 Euro
