Hulu’s Live TV service has finally arrived on Roku after having launched on most other significant TV platforms out there. With the refreshed app you get access to broadcast channels.
Hulu Live TV on Roku
Roku is purportedly the leading TV platform in the US but the company rarely manages to attract the latest and greatest apps or services.
Hulu’s Live TV service is the latest example of that, having already launched on Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Amazon FireTV, Microsoft Xbox, and mobile platforms. It is now finally available on Roku players and Roku TVs, although in beta and only on select Roku devices. Support for additional Roku devices is “expected to come soon”, the company said.
The redesigned Hulu app with Live TV service gives you access to over 50 live channels, including CBS, Fox, ESPN, FX, and more, for $40 dollars per month. This price also includes access to Hulu’s streaming library with commercials as well as a Cloud DVR with 200 hours of storage.
Roku has a head start in the TV space but is up against major players such as Amazon, Apple and Google who are starting to take their respective TV platforms more seriously.
The new Hulu app is available to download now (in beta) from the Roku Channel Store.
