The cheapest ad-free YouTube Premium Lite plan, which was available in a handful of European countries for €7 per month, is going away.
The news was announced by Google in emails to customers and confirmed by The Verge.
- "We're writing to let you know that after 25 October 2023, we will no longer be offering your version of Premium Lite. While we understand that this may be disappointing news, we continue to work on different versions of Premium Lite as we incorporate feedback from our users, creators and partners," YouTube said in statement.
YouTube Premium Lite was a better-value plan that offered ad-free access to YouTube without having to pay for other services such as YouTube Music.
Upgrade or watch with ads
After October 25, subscribers will have to option to upgrade to a more expensive plan or watch YouTube with ads.
