Why 24fps is not enough for HDR movies

I understand the new Sony X9's 4K panels may be from different suppliers and we're trying to determine which may be 10 Bit vs 8. Do you have a way of determining this? I'd thought Deep Color needed 10 bit. Just trying to clarify as many are shopping them here in the States and we're getting Yes/No and need to separate fact from fiction over at AVSForum. THX

I've seen the discussions, but I have no confirmation yet and I haven't had a chance to examine any of the new Sony 4K TVs myself yet.
