TV calibration, calibration tips, settings etc.

I have been avidly reading TV reviews on this website for a few months now, and it has helped me immensely in deciding what LED Tv to purchase.

I live in Australia, and recently purchased a 52 inch Sharp LE830X Tv. I noticed in your calibration settings that you have set the Backlight to +16 (the maximum setting). However, I read somewhere in the manual about extending the backlight lifespan by reducing this setting.

Is there any way I can achieve a similar picture to your current calibrated setting for the Sharp LE830X by reducing the backlight setting down a few clicks (eg. setting the backlight to +12 or +13), whilst increasing the brightness and contrast to compensate??? You currently have brightness set at 0 and contrast at 32. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on this query as I have no experience in the calibration area.

Cheers,

Phillip
