Samsung launches flat SUHD TV, JS8000, in Europe

A few weeks ago, Samsung added a flat affordable SUHD TV to its US line-up, and at IFA Samsung announced its first flat SUHD TV for the European market. JS8000 also comes packed with the latest Tizen features.

”SUHD” is Samsung’s word for a LCD TV with nano crystal technology. The tiny crystals can expand the color gamut compares to conventional LCD models. JS8000 can also process the HDR (high dynamic range) but be aware that it uses edge LED.

Samsung is already selling its JS9500 flatship as well as the slightly cheaper JS9000 and JS8500 SUHD models in Europe. All three are curved, making JS8000 the first flat TV in the European SUHD line-up. Curved TVs have received a lukewarm welcome in many regions of the world and Samsung is clearly reacting. They tell us that JS8000 is basically a flat variant of the JS8500 model.

Earlier this year, Samsung introduced a new operating system for TVs named Tizen. It is a cross-device OS for TVs, phones, watches and other connected products. Tizen is also available in JS8000 that runs on a quad-core processor. Additionally, the TV has a twin tuner built in, which allows you to record one channels while watching another.

JS8000 will launch in Europe this month in 55 inches with a suggested retail price of 2500 Euro.
