At IFA 2017, Panasonic has launched the 77-inch version of its EZ1000 OLED that features 4K, HDR, and the HCX2 video processor. The flagship TV is available in Europe.
77” flagship OLED TV
Earlier this year, Panasonic launched 55-65-inch OLED TVs in the EZ950 and EZ1000 ranges. The new 77-inch EZ1000 will complete the line-up.
- "More and more consumers are demanding a true home cinema experience not only with top-of-the-range picture quality but also with correspondingly large screens,” said Yasushi Murayama, head of Panasonic’s European TV business. “We are therefore extremely proud to introduce our latest, top-of-the-range 77-inch OLED TV model to the current line-up from September.”
The 77-inch model comes with all of the features of the existing 65-inch EZ1000, including 4K resolution, HDR support, and Panasonic’s acclaimed HCX2 video processor. It has furthermore been ’UHD Premium’ certified.
Panasonic added that ”EZ1000 is certified for use as a client reference monitor for color grading sessions on blockbuster feature films and high-end television episodics across their facilities”, which is a testament to its supreme picture quality.
- “We cannot praise highly enough Panasonic’s ongoing commitment to improving the viewing experience of its OLED TVs,” said Mike Sowa, Senior theatrical colourist for Technicolor.
A few days ago, Panasonic announced that it will join forces with Samsung and 20th Century Fox to promote the HDR10+ format, which is an answer to the Dolby Vision HDR format. It is not clear if HDR10+ can be added via firmware to the existing models. We are chasing more details at IFA.
The Panasonic 77” EZ1000 is available to order now in Europe for around 20.000 Euro, depending on your region.
