TPV, the company behind TP Vision and Philips TV, has created 'DUET' that combines an OLED screen with a unique sound solution where “speaker sticks” attract to the TV via magnetism and the woofer acts as a base, according to a listing on the iF Design Award webpage.

Not only has iF Design Award leaked the OLED903, the organization has also revealed a unique design OLED TV concept from TPV, the company behind TP Vision / Philips TV. It has been named DUET.

- “Just as in a duet performance the DUET a TPV newly created TV has two essential elements, sound stick and woofer base. Both are wrapped premium fabrics up to bring warmth and comfort. The sound stick itself contains magnetism to attract to the TV lateral frame and also provide 360 degrees sound experience delivering the finest sound to surround your home,” said iF Design Award.



DUET uses design elements from the 2013 Philips DesignLine that leaned up against the wall. Earlier this year, Philips started talking about the DesignLine legacy and even included a photo of it on its business cards. It could appear that DUET is the latest creation in this line of design TVs. However, it does not yet have a model name and is currently branded as "TPV".

The magnetic speakers attract to the TV’s frame but can also be mounted on a wall. This concept was first introduced with another Philips TV (8601). The woofer for deep sounds appears to be a base when the TV is standing on furniture. The other picture suggests that the woofer can be removed if the user wants to lean the OLED TV against the wall.

DUET together with OLED brings out a premium experience and sound feast letting the users feel as if they are in front of a live performance,” the organization added.

DUET currently looks more like a concept than an actual consumer product but that may change in the future. Philips has not acknowledged the existence of DUET.
