In an interview, Bang & Olufsen has confirmed plans to launch a soundbar that can be connected to TVs from other brands. B&O will also get early access to LG's 88-inch 8K OLED.
Soundbar from B&O
Soon you will be able to get B&O TV sound on a non-B&O TV. You will also be able to control the soundbar with the company's BeoRemote.
This is according to Steve Devonshire, a B&O veteran of 39 years, who teased the soundbar in an interview with OurSecretLab, while talking about the company's partnership with LG Electronics. Another aspect of this partnership involves LG implementing software in its C9 OLED TV to make B&O's remote controls capable of controlling the screen.
In the same interview, Steve Devonshire says that B&O will have early access to LG's 88-inch 8K OLED screen. The company recently announced BeoVision Harmony, which is based on LG's 77-inch C9 4K model.
How the soundbar will look is still too early to say. It has yet to be unveiled and is still largely a secret. Rumors have swirled for some time about a soundbar from the Danish luxury TV/AV brand. Apparently the company may even be planning to launch more than one soundbar. The first model is said to be a simple soundbar that can be connected to TVs from other brands while a later model will come with more advanced features.
The sequence was cut from the interview after publication but other YouTubers were quick to make a copy and re-upload it. The relevant sequence can be found below.
