First JVC OLED TVs

These are the first JVC-branded OLED TVs and it looks like a promising debut. The 4K OLED TVs come complete with support for HDR (HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision), 100Hz panels, and HDMI 2.1 ports with support for 4K120 input. - "JVC has announced the introduction of its premium VO9100 series of design-led OLED 4K HDR Smart TVs for Europe. Delivering a cinematic picture performance as well as multi-dimensional audio, the 55” and 65” OLED 4K HDR Smart TVs support ultra-immersive viewing and next-gen gaming, with advanced motion handling, and HDMI 2.1 features," it was announced.

In addition, the TVs support other HDMI 2.1 features such as ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) for auto switching to Game mode when connected to a game console as well eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel) for higher-quality sound output via HDMI. The TVs also support Dolby Atmos decoding/output. - "This ultra-fast refresh rate as well as the TVs’ HDMI 2.1 functionality ensure a high-quality gaming experience, supporting 4K 100 FPS/120 FPS gameplay on the latest, most powerful consoles and gaming PCs," the company said. The TVs are powered by a Linux-based Smart TV platform. Confirmed apps include Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, Netflix, Red Bull TV, Twitch, and YouTube, so unless more apps hide inside you may need to connect an external cast device or streaming box to connect to your preferred streaming services. The TVs are compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands through external devices. JVC VO9100 will compete with models like LG B1, Sony A80J, Philips OLED706, and Panasonic JZ980 in Europe. Pricing details were not announced but we should know more soon. The 55- and 65-inch OLED TVs will launch in most of Europe (UK, Nordics and France not included) by November.
