At CES, Samsung has unveiled three new QD-OLED and OLED TV models for 2024 including new sizes with LG Display panels. The S95D flagship features anti-glare coating.
Samsung will introduce an expanded line-up of OLED TVs this year to compete in the high-end segment with arch rival LG as well as other OLED TV brands.
The flagship S95D will be available in 55, 65 and 77 inches with QD-OLED panels. While Samsung Display earlier today said that the 2024 QD-OLED panel delivers up to 3000 nits peak brightness, Samsung Electronics is saying that S95D is "20% brighter" than last year's S95C. It is possible that Samsung Electronics refers to overall brightness.

In addition, S95D has a new anti-glare coating designed to minimize reflections. FlatpanelsHD saw it in action today for the first time and while it is very effective, it also makes black levels in a brightly lit room look a little less intense. We will need more time with S95D to say anything definitive.
- "New ‘OLED Glare Free’ technology – specifically designed for 2024 OLED screens – preserves color accuracy and reduces reflections while maintaining image sharpness to ensure an immersive viewing experience, even in daylight. The OLED-optimized, low-reflection coating overcomes the trade-off between gloss and reflection thanks to a new, specialized hard-coating layer and surface coating pattern," said Samsung.
S95D has a very sleek design due to the external One Connect box. The other models do not feature One Connect.

Update: Here's a video showing comparing the new anti-glare coating to a conventional glossy OLED TV.
Samsung OLED TVs with LG panels
After launching a few OLED models last year built on LG Display's WOLED panels, Samsung is expanding the partnership this year with 42, 48 and 83-inch sizes; all with WOLED.
S90D will come in 42 to 83 inches while a new more affordable S85D model will come in 55, 65 and 77 inches. The 65-inch S85D exhibited today at Samsung's First Look event was also using a LG Display WOLED panel but it is unclear if S85D will use WOLED exclusively or if it will be a panel lottery between QD-OLED and WOLED. The same concern applies to the 55, 65 and 77-inch S90D.

We do not yet have full details on the three models but the expanded line-up signals that Samsung is getting serious about OLED in TVs.
Another new feature is the 'Active Voice Amplifier Pro' function, which in our demo was surprisingly effective. FlatpanelsHD is chasing more details at CES.
