Vizio is bringing the price down on large-sized LCD TVs by introducing an 86-inch 4K LCD TV on April 29 for $999. It features a 60Hz refresh rate with a 120Hz 1080p mode.
The American TV maker is restructuring its model lineup this year, combining the popular M- and P-series into one range. It will release more details later, but it seems that consumers can expect an expanded number of entry-level and mid-range TV models.
One of the new entry-level models is an 86-inch 4K LCD TV, likely with an IPS LCD panel.

Not many details were provided, but the company did confirm that it includes a 120Hz mode at half vertical resolution (1080p) for gaming purposes. The 4K mode operates at up to 60Hz.

HDR support but not HDR pictures
Vizio also mentioned that it supports HDR, including HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. However, due to the lack of true local dimming hardware, you should not expect actual HDR picture quality.
Additionally, Vizio confirmed that the TV will come with WiFi 6 compatibility and DTS:X audio support. Streaming apps will be available along with potentially more ads if Walmart's announced acquisition of Vizio goes through.
However, the standout "feature" is the price. The 86-inch 4K LCD TV will launch on April 29 in the US for $999 and despite its technical shortcomings it should inject some extra competition into the segment for large-sized TVs.
